Impressions

a publication for the department of architecture

Impressions is a new annual publication which documents research conducted by the Master of Architecture Thesis students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Previous documentation efforts lacked a guiding ethos and continuity between editions necessary for making them a recognizable and revered piece of literature published by the department.

The word 'impressions' now serves as the title and a prompt for student designers in years to come. The work of thesis students culminates in a robust written and oral defense, and it is the mission of Impressions not to attempt to re-tell that information but instead serve as a complimentary interface.  The new publication seeks to distill the student work down to its' very essence and present a snapshot of the work in a thoughtful and concise manner.
